Charlotte Buch Workshop
Last weekend brought the much awaited 2 day felting workshop conducted by Charlotte Buch in Perth. After much throwing and rolling my dress (tissue silk, wool and silk fibre) was produced - not perfect, but a challenge met and potential for improvement.
Once again, it is just amazing what you can produce with one set of hands and nothing mechanical - the fabric, seams and edges are all felted.
Besides the knowledge and experience you gain from producing something new, another great benefit is seeing what the other 14 students are also creating and how, for example, 4 people attempt the same task with very different results. It is also good seeing everyone else's arms collapse!
My sense of satisfaction was accompanied by a bloody right palm - skin worn off from rubbing the edges of the armholes! Hopefully this week some of my new ideas will become a reality.
